At Kids Academy Africa, we offer a STEM-based curriculum that is aligned with the CAPS curriculum. Our approach to teaching is hands-on and interactive, with each classroom equipped with a reading corner, exploration station, and creativity corner. We offer extramural activities at an additional cost to provide our students with a well-rounded education.

Our mission is to create an inclusive community where each child is respected, valued, and encouraged to take responsibility for their actions. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential, and we strive to provide the support and resources necessary to make that happen.

We uphold traditional values and respect all faiths at our school. We aim to instil moral virtues in all our learners, and we uphold the values of respect, honour, integrity, honesty, and loyalty. We believe that hard work and endurance brings great rewards your way.

We are also excited to announce that we are planning on bringing in new playground equipment for our primary and pre-primary schools. Our primary school can also look forward to a computer and media room, additional classrooms, and internal play areas.

The Importance of Early English Language Learning

At Kids Academy Africa, we are proud to be an English-medium private school where all subjects are taught in the English Language.

While we are deeply respectful of every child’s home language, cultural heritage, and traditions, we have seen the incredible benefits of introducing the English Language early—especially in a learning environment where it is the medium of instruction.

We also recognise the widespread use of the English Language across the world. It is the global language of business, physics, and the sciences, and it plays a vital role in international communication, technology, and education. We see a direct link between your child being fluent in English and their ability to succeed—not only here in South Africa, but anywhere in the world.

We welcome many learners whose home language is not English, and we celebrate the richness that linguistic and cultural diversity brings to our school community. At the same time, we work gently and supportively to help each child grow confident and capable in English, setting them up for success in all areas of learning and life.

Here’s why early exposure to the English Language is so valuable:

A Stronger Foundation for Learning

Research shows that children who begin learning a second language early in life are more likely to become fluent and confident speakers. The earlier a child is introduced to the English Language, the more naturally they begin to understand, speak, and use it in everyday learning.

Confidence Across All Subjects

Since all subjects—like Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies—are taught in English, developing proficiency in the English Language helps children understand instructions, grasp concepts, and perform well across the curriculum.

Communication Skills That Last a Lifetime

Being able to express oneself clearly in English builds confidence, supports social development, and helps children participate fully in classroom discussions and school activities.

Wider Access to Educational Resources

Most textbooks, digital tools, and learning platforms are in the English Language. English opens the door to a vast world of knowledge, including more than 50% of the internet’s content.

Prepared for the Future

English is the most widely spoken language in the world, with over 1.5 billion users. It is the international language of science, technology, business, and higher education. Building English Language skills early helps prepare children for opportunities in high school, university, and the global workplace.

Cognitive and Academic Advantages

Studies from institutions like Harvard University show that children who learn additional languages early tend to develop stronger problem-solving, memory, and critical thinking skills. Learning in English, while continuing to value their home language, gives children the best of both worlds.

Supportive, Inclusive Learning Environment

We know that learning in a second language can feel overwhelming at first, which is why our teachers are trained to support children gently and patiently. We provide a nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to grow at their own pace, with plenty of individual attention.

At Kids Academy Africa, we honour all languages, traditions, and cultural backgrounds. We believe that by giving children a strong foundation in the English Language—while continuing to respect and celebrate where they come from—we prepare them to thrive in a global, connected world.
